Microsoft Dynamics GP October 2025 - Sales Order Processing Required Fields
Views (6)
I'm thrilled to kick off the Dynamics GP 18.8 Feature Blog Series! Get ready for an inside look at the latest enhancements that make your GP experience smarter, faster, and better than ever!
With the 18.8 release we introduced a small but highly requested improvement for Dynamics GP users. When saving a Sales Order Processing document, if required fields are missing, the system now provides a more helpful message. It instructs users to expand the sales lines to fill in mandatory fields such as Site ID and/or Price List.
By default, the sales lines in the Sales Transaction Entry scrolling window are collapsed.
You can access this window by navigating to Transactions → Sales → Sales Transaction Entry.
Side Note: The required fields display settings are found when you choose Microsoft Dynamics GP, then User Preferences and then Display window.
Why It’s Important
Improves efficiency: No more guessing why the error appears.
Reduces frustration: Clear instructions save time and prevent mistakes.
Supports accuracy: Ensures all critical data—like pricing and site details—is captured before posting.
So next time you’re in Transactions → Sales → Sales Transaction Entry, remember to expand that scrolling window. A simple click can save you a lot of headaches!
Thanks for voting this one up and showing how important it is to your business. Enjoy this highly requested GP feature.
