Print wave labels per product

One advantage of wave labels is that Dynamics prints the labels when the batch (or when clicking “release to warehouse”) releases an order to the warehouse. However, when you prefer to print a product label, the number of labels that is printed is determined by the unit of measure. For instance, when the unit of measure is pcs (i.e., pieces), you will get for each piece a label.

When boxes or pallets are used, it is useful/handy to get a label per box or pallet. If products are sold per piece, the number of labels will be based on the number of pieces you have. In collaboration with Microsoft we have also found a way to get a wave label per item. To get a wave label per item, you need to remove “wave label type” from the wave template.

When you release the order to the warehouse the wave labels will be printed per item.  The only disadvantage is that you are not able see the label anymore via the load.

If you want to check whether the wave label has been printed, it can be viewed in the document routing status.

In case you need to do a reprint of a wave label, this can be done using the form “Wave label history”.

Path: Warehouse management > Inquiries and reports > wave label history.
