When a customer places an order with a company, it doesn’t necessarily mean the order will be delivered the next day. The number of transportation days may depend on the method of transportation or destination. This process can be supported using the Transportation days feature in Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management.
With Transportation days, you can configure the number of transit days based on the shipping warehouse, destination, and method of transport. The feature also allows you to distinguish between the shipping date and the receipt date:
• Shipping date – the date the company ships the product
• Receipt date – the expected date the customer receives the order
What are the benefits for a business?
• Clear delivery expectations
• Reliable order updates
• Flexible shipping options
