Hello,
We receive questions regarding Paid Time Off Manager (PTO Manager) from time to time and I found it fitting to provide you with information regarding how it works with tips on setup.
Here is a quick overview of PTO Manager and tips for setup:
- PTO Manager is available when you purchase the Human Resource and Payroll Extended Pack.
- It is a nice enhancement to core Payroll that accrues during the payroll process automatically without any extra steps.
- Set up accrual schedules to award Vacation or Sick time at different rates based on ranges such as years worked with maximums.
- Print and view PTO transaction details/history and PTO Adjustment tracking.
- Easy roll downs from master setup to employees.
- Time accrued can become available at the time of the pay run, or a waiting period can be set up to award hours on an anniversary date, a predefined date, or at year end.
- PTO Manager utilizes the GP User Date at the time of a pay run to determine ranges, anniversary dates, and expiration dates.
- Microsoft Dynamics GP determines if Yearly Maximums on accrual schedules have been met by looking at the ‘Year-To-Date Accrued Hours’ on the Employee PTO Maintenance window. Due to this, if a Waiting period is being used it is best practice to use Pay Period Maximums instead.
- It is ok to use 9.99999 as a calculation factor, but whenever you are able use the actual calculation factor.
