Microsoft Dynamics GP Sample Data EXPLOSION!!
Summer is here and so is the NEW SAMPLE DATA for Microsoft Dynamics GP!!!!
I talk with customers and partners every day and receive a ton of feedback and with that collaboration comes GREAT ideas that benefit many.
With our rapid release cycle, often times we are so busy getting new features out to you, sample data is forgotten about.
Well...get ready to AMP UP TWO – Get the new sample data today!
Below are mini macro's you can run to enhance sample data in your system.
Here is how this can benefit you:
- You may be looking to implement a new module and with sample data, it helps you test key areas and understand how it is used.
- Training, many train Microsoft Dynamics GP, how fun is that to learn with no data?
- Partners and prospects have better visibility of how the product is designed to function.
Areas I focused on:
Advanced Human Resource, Analytical Accounting, Workflow for HRP, Project Accounting Time and Expense, PTO Manager, Employee Self Service.
The New sample Data is SO BRIGHT - You gotta wear SHADES – CHECK IT OUT!!!
Since this is a run at your own risk type macro, it was built on GP 2016, but you could probably use it on GP 2015 as well. There are little instruction pages with each as your macro can crash based on your menu bar..... who would have thought!
Also there is no support for this as it was a nice to have tool, so please no cases around it :-) All of you know macros way better than I anyway.

This works on multiple version installs including Microsoft Dynamics GP 2018!!
Enjoy!

Thank you for this! I did run into some minor issues with the PTO Manager macro where it does not account for the "Reason for Change" screen when adding new pay codes to the employee. I'm not sure if there is a way to disable that screen, but I had to add several Pause commands to the macro so that I could manually interact with GP each time that screen popped up (3 times). Once this was added, the macro worked perfectly.
