MSDyn365F&SCM: Mixed license plate receiving
When inbound shipment is being received with multiple items on the received pallet and you as receiving clerk would like to register all the items on the pallet before moving them from receiving location to another one. With this functionality, you are able to register and create work for multiple items at once by generating a single Pick work line from a variety of Purchase orders and building multiple Put work lines.
There are several prerequisites that must be in place before using this functionality.
Mobile device menu item setup
Warehouse management > Setup > Mobile device > Mobile device menu items
Create new mobile device menu item to perform mixed license plate receiving process.
There are two Work creation processes dedicated to the mixed license plate receiving process available in the mobile device menu item:
- Mixed license plate receiving
- Mixed license plate receiving and put away
Besides Work creation processes, the field Source document line identification method needs to be set in order to identify to which source document apply mixed license plate receiving logic.
Currently, the following options are supported:
- Purchase order item receiving
- Purchase order line receiving
- Load item receiving
- Return order receiving
- Transfer order item receiving
- Transfer order line receiving
Mobile device menu setup
Warehouse management > Setup > Mobile device > Mobile device menu
Assign the created mobile device menu item to the Mobile device menu.
Worker setup
Warehouse management > Setup > Worker
Make sure that warehouse worker who is going to perform this operation has menu name assigned
Walkthrough
Create a new Purchase order that is going to be received.
Log in to the Warehouse App and select the menu item for the Mixed license plate receiving.
Enter/Scan the license plate into which you are receiving the mixed items.
Enter/Scan PONumber.
Enter/scan an item that you are receiving.
Enter the received Qty.
Confirm the item.
Continue entering/scanning the items. If you enter items that are not in the purchase order, you will get an error message.
This feature supports barcode scanning.

If you scan too many times the same barcode, you might be stopped by the system saying that there is no quantity left.
You can always go to the Show list option available in the hamburger menu to check what you have already scanned.
If you see that there is an issue with the scanned items, you can modify the Qty by clicking Modify from the Show list screen. You would have to select the line that you would like to modify.
And set new Qty.
You can switch to another PO and start scanning items from that PO. For this purpose, you would need to select Change PONum menu option.
Once you are done with the scanning, you select the LP Complete option.
You will see the confirmation screen.
Once you confirm it, Work will be created and Pick line will be In progress status.
You will get a confirmation of the Pick.
Until you confirm the Pick, Work behind this PO will be In progress state. Once you confirm Pick, Pick work line will be set to Closed.
Now we would have different flow based on the Mobile device menu item setup
If it’s selected Group Put away in the mobile device menu item, the system will not require Target license plate, instead the system would use already scanned license plate like it’s presented below.
If it’s NOT selected Group Put away in the mobile device menu item, the system will require Target license plate for all items except the last one. For the last item in the queue the system will take the License plate number initially scanned.
Keep in mind that for the Put work the system will suggest items in the order they presented in the Work. It doesn’t matter the way that you scanned them
So, user scans the TLP for the first item.
Then, user scans TLP for the second item.
And for the last item, the scanning is not required, as I mentioned already.
After Put work type confirmation, the work will be completed and marked as Closed.
Several notes that are worth adding about Work confirmation setup available in the Mobile device menu item.
If you are doing auto confirmation (Auto confirm flag) on Put you will not get the last screen where you need to confirm Put operation, it will be auto-confirmed.
If you select Product confirmation, additional screen will be presented, you would need to scan not only target license plate (if you didn’t set Group put away), but also Item and it should be equal to what the system is suggesting. Assume that system is suggesting grabbing the item from the pallet and move it to specific location. With this setting, the system is asking to scan the item just to make sure that you took exact that system asked.
