Danish Ali Profile Picture Danish Ali 884

Hi Everyone,

Greetings!

This is the Part III of the blog series for Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (D365F&O). The purpose of this blog is to list down the series of prerequisite setups and configurations for process manufacturing industries.

What is the formula?

A formula defines the materials, ingredients, and outcomes of a specific process in process manufacturing. Together with the corresponding route, the formula defines the whole process in process manufacturing. Formulas are used to plan and produce products in process manufacturing.

In Part III of the series, I will cover the following topics

  • Formula version
  • Formula details
  • Formula lines
  • Formula Designer View

Formula Version

In order to create the formula, we need to create the formula version. Each formula must have one version.

Formula Version can be associated with one or many co-products and by-products that can be produced as we produce the finished product.

Use effective date range and activate the multiple formula version. Make sure that date ranges should not overlap.

Create the new formula version to create the 100% Orange juice from Concentrate. Enter the Formula code and Name. If required, select the site, from and to date for the formula version.

Enter the yield percentage and also enable the check "Use for calculation"

In the formula lines, enter all the ingredients/raw materials for the formula(100% Orange Juice). Also, make sure to enter the quantity and per series value.
