What Do I Do if I Can’t See the Personal Dashboard I Created in Microsoft Dynamics 365?
Last week, we covered “How to Change the Properties of Your Personal Dashboard in Microsoft Dynamics 365” to further customize it. Today, we are answering a frequently-asked question: “What do I do if I can’t see the personal dashboard I just created in Microsoft Dynamics 365?”
While it should appear for you after you’ve created it, there may be uncommon instances where it doesn’t.
If you can’t see your personal dashboard, follow the steps in this post.
First, if it’s not immediately available, try a simple refresh. That’s really all it should take!
Now, you should see the dashboard you’ve created under “My Dashboards.”

If you still don’t see it after you’ve clicked “refresh,” unfortunately this may mean that you didn’t properly save your personal dashboard and might have to restart the process.
Typically, a pop-up window will ask you if you’re sure if you want to navigate away before saving. So, you should have many chances to avoid this, but we understand – it does happen. While technology is a great tool, at the end of the day, the operator (you) is still human!
While this is frustrating, it could happen, and we encourage you to keep your head held high, learn from this, and value this experience as another opportunity to further your Dynamics 365 skills. (It happens despite experience level.) Sometimes, you’re just moving too fast and gloss over these key steps in the personal dashboard creation process.
Grow as you go!
If a personal dashboard is one you want to see by default every time you log in, select your dashboard in your navigation pane and click “Set As Default” at the top of your screen.

Now you know it’s your default dashboard. If you decide you don’t want it as your default dashboard anymore, click “Clear Default” at the top of your screen. Or, if you want to edit your personal dashboard, click “Edit.”

You could also create a new dashboard, or click “Save as” and start from the dashboard that you have to create a new one.
You could also share your dashboard or assign, but we do not recommend that because unless you’ve previously shared it with yourself, you will no longer have access to this dashboard once you reassign it.
Instead, we recommend sharing a dashboard. We will cover the steps for sharing a dashboard in next week’s post!
