D365 Warehouse Management | Outbound Operations | All About Picking | Zone Picking - Part 1

Hello People,

In this blog post, I will share my experience of Zone picking for AWMS. I will discuss the solution available out of the box in D365 Warehouse Management Module.

For Zone picking, the warehouse pickers are assigned to the specific area of the warehouse by Zone. The pickers in the Zone are responsible to pick the items only for the designated area or location.

Objective: Create the consolidated work for multiple transfer orders (for same-store) based on Zone. Zone-wise picking work will be created and then assigned to the pickers.

Why Zone Picking?

The Zone picking will help the warehouse picker to reduce the travel time as they are responsible to pick the items from the specific zone assigned. The probability of multiple pickers walking in the same zone will be less. This will improve the overall efficiency of the warehouse operations.
