If you are using connectors for Project “Madeira” or Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, Business edition to connect to Power BI, PowerApp, or Microsoft Flow, then read this announcement. If you are using the connectors for Dynamics 365 Business Central, then you can ignore this post.

The Project “Madeira” and Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, Business edition connectors for Power BI, Microsoft Flow and PowerApps have been deprecated. The connectors will continue to work and are fully supported until they are officially removed. The removal of the connectors will occur on December 31, 2018. After removal, the connectors will no longer work and will not be supported. We are notifying you now so you have sufficient time to plan and update any reports in Power BI, apps in PowerApp, or workflows in Microsoft Flow before the support for the connectors for Project “Madeira” and Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, Business edition are removed.

To avoid any interruption in these services, we recommend that you reconfigure any existing app in PowerApp, report in Power BI, or flow in Microsoft Flow to use the latest Business Central connector.

For example, connect to your Business Central data using the Business Central Finance app for Power BI.

Reconfiguring Power BI reports

To reconfigure an existing Power BI report, open each report in the Power BI desktop application.

  1. Select ‘Get Data’
  2. Choose the Business Central connector from the list of services
  3. Connect to the service using your Azure AD credentials
  4. Select the data source (Company/Web Service end point)
  5. Drag the content from the new data source on to your report, replacing the original fields
  6. Save & publish your updated report

Reconfiguring Power Apps

To reconfigure an existing PowerApp, open each PowerApp in the PowerApp design studio.

  1. Select View Data Sources from the ribbon
  2. In the Data blade, select + New Connection
  3. Choose the Business Central connector from the list of connections
  4. Connect to the service using your Azure AD credentials
  5. Select the data source (Company/API)
  6. Change the data source used in your Power App
  7. Save and publish your updated PowerApp

Reconfiguring Microsoft Flow

To reconfigure an existing Microsoft Flow, edit each Flow in your Flow account.

  1. Select each trigger or action that is using Maderia or Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, Business edition connections
  2. Create a new connection
  3. Choose the Business Central connector from the list of connections
  4. Connect to the service using your Azure AD credentials
  5. Select the data source (Company/API)
  6. Change the data source used in your Microsoft Flow
  7. Save your Flow
