As described in this blog: http://www.powerobjects.com/2013/03/28/stop-automatic-crm-to-outlook-syncing-contacts/ we have turned off outlook synchronization of contacts to CRM. Is there a way to set this setting off as default for new users? (we have 200 users that are going to use the system)
You could deactive the Outlook sync filter for contacts to prevent contacts being synchronized. When you're all set to go, you activate the filter and CRM will now be syncing contacts.
I recommend using Sync Filter Manager in the XrmToolBox; available here: http://www.xrmtoolbox.com
