I am creating a new form in dynamics 365 crm and i wanna add field that form number that is coming to outlook e-mail address. You can see that it in photo.
Please tell me how can i put it dynmics 365 crm ?
Please help me about it.
That value is stored in the tracking token field of the email entity
Is it possible that i can put that value as a field to inside of forms?
You can go to Settings -> Customizations (or Solutions), open your solution and navigate to the email entity.
In there, open the main form (Information), and put the Tracking Token field from the list of fields on the right onto your form.
This should make the Tracking Token number visible on your form.
i couldnt find email entity inside of Customizations or Solutions. Could u give me more details about it?
And i have another question that can i add Tracking Token to another form like order form? Is that possible?
If you go to System -> Customizations, Customize my system, email entity should be there. If you can find it, then it is likely to have been renamed by whoever customized your system.
It is a system entity, so it can't be deleted.
Tracking token is designed for email, so it can't be put on the order form, unless you do some with code or a workflow possibly that copies it over there.
Ok , i got it. Then i need another solution for my problem.
Actually, i need a generic unique field for all forms. That's why i wanted to use tracking token. Do u have any suggestion for that problem?
Can you explain what exactly you are trying to achieve?
You can generate autonumbers for your entities if that is what you are looking for, or there are available solutions that can do that for you.
I need to generate autonumber unique field for each record. I am so new about dynamics 365 crm that's why i am looking the easy way that i can handle it quickly.
Could u give me some advice?
There are a few options:
You can create your own plugin or workflow to generate autonumber, but might be some work there.
There are several ISV solutions that you can purchase an AutoNumber system from that will work for all your entities, and there are some free solutions out there as well.
You can just do a google/bing search for "crm autonumber solution", or if you want PM me, and I can provide you a couple of links.
I prefer ISV solutions and i found some ISV solutions but these solutions are not free. For instance, MTC AutoNumber is one of them. I couldn't find free solution.
If you send me links for free solutions it will be greate for me.
Are you still on CRM version 4 (per post subject)?
Yes, I am working on Dynamics 365 CRM version 4.
Dynamics 365 is one thing, CRM version 4 is another.
Can you send me a screenshot of your CRM environment?
That will let me know which version exactly.
Ok, this is our dynamics crm solution.
You are using Dynamics 365. This is actually version 8.2 (or 8.2.1).
There are a couple of free autonumber solutions that I am aware of:
The second one has a free and paid version. The free version contains a subset of the features.
I will check them thank you so much. You are really so helpful. When i check it, i will let you know result.
