I have noticed that when adding activities in the activity pane (specifically, tasks or phone calls), when you finish filling out the description, you need to hit the OK button twice in order to save the activity. The first OK just escapes the Description textbox, the second OK actually saves the activity. This is annoying and inconvenient as a lot of users are hitting OK once and thinking it saved their data, to later find out that it's missing because it was never saved.
Is there a workaround for this? Ideal scenario is that hitting OK once saves the activity. This works when editing 'Subject' field, so why can't it function the same when editing 'Description' field??
I have seen this behaviour and the workaround is to come out of the description field by clicking outside of the field (I know not a feasible workaround). Subject is a single line text where as description is multiline text, it is possible this is why it works for subject but not for description.
I don't think there is any way to fix this as this social pane is not customized. You can raise it as an enhancement feature so that it can be looked upon in the future versions- experience.dynamics.com/ideas.
Hope this helps.
I tried the same operation in my environment(V9.1 Online) and I found that if I add tasks,
I would meet the same issue but when I adding phone calls follow sequences(subject->
description->call with) it worked well.
This article only mentioned that description is need before create activities.
You could contact Microsoft for more support.
Hope it helps.
Thanks guys. I guess it's just a matter of exiting the multiline field (Description) first before saving.
I am having a similar issue, however, on the work order product entity for the Field Service mobile application (Power Platform). When the user taps on Save, the work order is marked as "successful". however, it still shows the save and discard option. When the user navigates back to the work order it shows that there are unsaved changes. So the save button needs to be tapped twice.
Any workarounds/solutions for this please?
