So, I’ve been working with CRM 4.0 for quite some time. I have customized the built in accounts entity to show up in all forms and everywhere else using the word jacket for a single account and jackets for more than one. The one place I haven’t gotten it’s a stick is in the navigation pane on the left-hand side of the account entity. Which do I need to modify in the various relationships to change this particular instance? As rather than the terminology “sub accounts” I would prefer to have something along the lines of related jackets, child jackets, etc.
My understanding is, you want to change the label of related items of account entity as shown in below screenshot,
If yes, then we need to change the label in navigation pane of Account entity form. Check below steps,
1. Click on Navigation in Home
2. Then the left side pane will get enable
3. Double click on the entity you want to rename
4. Change the label
Note: Before renaming make sure that you have selected the right related entity.
Hope this helps you.
Hi, thank you for your response. Unfortunately because I’m using CRM version 4.0, I don’t see any of those navigational elements in that order at all.
You can change the standard name to a customized name in the relationship. See the answer that's given before on this topic on the forum for version 2016: community.dynamics.com/.../how-to-change-relationship-customized-label-after-creating-relationship
I hope it works for you version as well
After reading a book on the subject of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, I found that the particular thing that needs to be changed is in a very weird place. More specifically under the account entity, there is an object called Messages. Under that tab at the very bottom of the components of the entity, there’s a message called sub accounts. Simply changing this to my desired text actually fixed it. So more specifically the path to change is
Settings > Customizations > Customize Entities > Accounts > Messages > Sub-Accounts
