This morning I witnessed a first....

...the first time ever that I recall an Opening Session at a Microsoft conference starting early!

Well, that's what happened this morning as shortly before 8:30 a.m. Central, Dave Coulombe (GM for the Fargo-based ERP Microsoft Dynamics development group) kicked off the Opening Session of the Microsoft Dynamics GP Technical Conference 2009.  The room was packed full of 250+ technical gurus focused on Dynamics GP, just waiting for the event to start!

Dave provided some insights into the Dynamic Business Drivers that we've blogged about before....things such as global economy, pace of change, industry consolidation, knowledge management, wired economy, and organizational excellence.  He also touched upon what customers want most...simplicity, value, innovation and choice and the role technical resources have to help customers get just that!

Jeff Trosen (Dynamics GP development) and Errol Schoenfish (Dynamics GP product management) provided information on the product vision and what Microsoft will be delivering in Dynamics GP "11".  It is so cool to see what customer problems we will be solving with our next release of Dynamics GP.

Up next for this two day conference....lots of concurrent sessions on specific topics to provide our ISVs and developers insight into what's coming with Microsoft Dynamics GP "11" so they can be prepared.  There are lunches with roundtable discussions and an ISV expo.  And, only at a technical conference would you have study hall sessions taking place each evening to help the attendees dig deeper into their technical studies and interact with Microsoft subject matter experts.

For technical gurus, it doesn't get any better than this!!
