Double VAT on free text invoices

Free Text Invoice is used for Maintenance Charges for a project.

Maintenance Charges attract VAT.

While creating Journal VAT is calculated properly.

When Journal is posted, VAT becomes double and gets posted, say invoice amount will go up by additional VAT amount.

If VAT is 5 % ; after posting journal, it will be 10 %.

For all Free Text Invoices, same thing happens.

What may be the reason.
