Can't delete existing lines of batch.

I have a batch that I'm trying to post, but I am receiving an error message that says " There are existing lines in batch XYZ in the Output Journal.  They must be posted or deleted to continue."
 
The problem is that the batch is empty.  When i click "Post", I get an error message saying "there is nothing to post."  When I try to delete it, nothing changes.  Has anyone encountered this before?  I could really use the help.
