Quantity on Hand shows 79 but I could not fetch relevant Item Ledger Entry in Business Central

Hi Team,

Good morning.

Today I came across a scenario where for an item card, it shows below value.

Quantity on Hand : 79.

However, I could not trace a item ledger entry for that quantity. Also, in the ILE screen, there are no 'open' entries and the remaining quantity is zero for all lines.

Please provide your assistance to figure this out.

As other colleagues said, the situation is a bit suspicious, but it seems that you may find an answer in your entries.

Remove all filters from the item ledger entry page except item no., and analyze entries. I saw that you have tracking by the lot no., so you may sum ''remaining qty'' and ''qty on hand'' for each lot no., and try to find which lot no. is not in the balance.

Also, If you sum values from the ''Item ledger entry qty'' field on the Value entries page with item no. filter, I'm interested in what result you will get.

You can check if you have customization on the item ledger entry table by clicking Ctrl + Alt + F1 and then clicking on the Extensions tab on the Page Inspection pane.

Hi Mustafa,

The system has exported 6319 lines after I clicked the 'Quantity on Hand' count. I do not know how to attach the file.

When I sum up the quantity field it shows 79 as quantity. But the remaining quantity shows zero when I sum all the lines.

It looks like something is not right here.

Is there any customization or patching made on the item ledger entries table?

I will suggest you open a ticket to Microsoft support on this.

Could you provide us the list of entries that is listed when you click on the '79' number on the column 'Qty. on Hand'.

When you click on that number, a page should open with a list of item entries with filters on the basis of which BC arrived at the calculation of 79.

Can we use the BC analyse mode instead of excel? The Excel shows you are looking at the 'Completely Invoiced' column.

I have checked the item ledger entries for the same item, and I do not see any item ledger entry with the remaining quantity.

Is there any other way so that I can find it out?

Hello Jaunt,

The remaining quantities could be from the Sales entries due to returns or journal entries.

On the item ledger entry, you can try this filter and see if the total is equal to the 'Quantity on Hand' field.

Will the item ledger entry should show the remaining quantity at least? Because the remaining quantity for all purchase entries shows zero as value.

The Inventory field in versions other than W1, such as the US version, is Quantity on Hand.

This field is a Flowfield, and except for Flowfilter, it is just the total of the Quantity in the Item Ledger Entries. There is no 'open' for filtering. Maybe that's the problem.
