Batch job cleanup recommendations

Hi all,

We’re planning to start using batch job cleanup routines, and I have a few questions about how the Batch job clean-up report works. It's not about batch job history, but report that cleaning batchjob table (batch job headers).

I understand most of the criteria that need to be set before running the report, but I’m a bit unclear about the Status parameter.

The available options are Withhold, Error, Finished, and Cancelled. However, when I check the Batch jobs form in our system, most completed jobs have the status Ended, which isn’t one of the selectable statuses in the cleanup report.

From what I can see, if I want to clean up those jobs, I would need to manually change their status from Ended to Withhold before running the cleanup report which is a lot of manual work.

If anyone has experience using this cleanup functionality, I’d really appreciate it if you could share how you handle this scenario.

I'm assuming you're talking about System administration > Periodic tasks > Batch job clean-up (i.e. BatchJobCleanUp class).

If you tick Finished, it'll actually include Ended jobs, as you need. It's just an unfortunate inconsistency in the GUI. The enum element is called Finished, but its English label is Ended.
