Posting sequence between the account structure and fixed default financial dimenison

Hi Expert,

I get confused when I tested with the Financial dimenison setup.

Seems like the not fixed default financial dimension will be processed after account structure during the posting.

While when I try a fixed default financial dimenison, if will be processed before teh account structure during posting.

Is any one familiar with those behaviour? Does any one know which go first during the posting, the default financial dimension in main account setup or the account structure?

Hi LIN,

Are you trying to observe the execution order of financial dimension resolution during posting—specifically.

Based on my understandting -
When posting:
-> Fixed default dimensions from the main account are applied early.
-> Then the system validates the combination against the account structure.
-> Non-fixed default dimensions are applied afterward only if values are missing.

Hello,

There are several ways to set defaults (from vendor, clients, etc..), but the logic is always the same: default dimensions must be defined in the master data. For the General Ledger, default financial dimensions are tied to the main account. This is where you configure them.

The account structure is a validation rule. It ensures that your general journal entry is consistent with the configured rules.
These rules determine whether the user must, may, or cannot enter a financial dimension for a specific range of main accounts.
