Procurement Categories for Items

We are trying to decide if item hierarchy should be replicated in a procurement category. Are there advantages in having a procurement category hierarchy for reporting and analysis?

    If you need to default dimension, item to be defined. You may also need you can setup both item and procurement category together.

    Good day,
     
    It can be an advantage for reporting, for example how much has been procured in year X for procurement category Y. 
     
    Do you maybe know the (business) requirement?
