100% data verification

Posted on by 9
Good morning,
We are doing a migration from On premise to Saas, well,
We collect the data from the company's SQL, and migrate it to Saas through the data and SQL packages. The client told us, how could they know that the data coming from their SQL was the same as that going to Saas? We did the onpremise, but almost at the end the client decided to switch to Saas.
Well now they tell us that they need not only to confirm the number of data, but also that the data be correct and functional in BC, we have used BC table information for this, but it tells us that a number of SQL data has passed bc, not that the data is functional and 100% verified. It is not enough for them to verify it by the users of the system, they want us to verify that quality 100% before that.
can this be done?

Hi, if you are only comparing quantities, not content, I think you only need to compare the values in the Table Information table.

    Hope this helps as well.
    Thanks.

One way is to manually compare the number of tables with data, and the number of records each table has. The two should be the same on-premise and on SaaS. You can use the Table Information Page in BC to do this. For example, export this table to excel to compare.

Thank you very much for your answer, but what I need is to verify the data that comes from the SQL of the Business Central onpremise company, the verification consists of a report that tells us how much data has been migrated, if that data in BC onpremise is correct and fulfill the same functions that they fulfilled in the previous software.

    Hi,

For copying data from on-prem to SaaS you should be using Microsoft process.
