Show All Main Accounts in Trial Balance Report

In standard D365 Finance, the Trial Balance report typically displays only main accounts with an opening balance, transactions during the selected period, or a closing balance. Main accounts with zero opening balance, zero transactions, and zero closing balance are usually suppressed from the report. We need all main accounts, regardless of activity, can be shown in the Trial Balance by default or if there is any other standard report (if any in financial report) available where we can see all the main accounts details irrespective of any transaction for the period. Much appreciate if anyone can assist on this on priority as this is our customer requirement.

Here’s the step‑by‑step guide to configure Financial Reporting (FR) in Dynamics 365 Finance so that all main accounts (including zero‑balance ones) appear in the Trial Balance:
📝 Step 1: Open Financial Reporting

Navigate to General Ledger > Inquiries and reports > Financial reports.

Select the Trial Balance report definition or create a new one.

📝 Step 2: Edit Row Definition

Open the Row Definition linked to the Trial Balance.

In the Row Type, choose Financial.

Under Link to Financial Dimensions, select Main Account.

Instead of filtering by balances, choose All Accounts.

Hello,

Why you need main accounts with zero balance in 'Trail Balance' report. This report is not build to have accounts with zero balance. Maybe you can use some MS Excel skills to bring all data into one file, accounts with balance from this report and all main account from master and do some magic to combine both reports.
