Usage of license models Customer Service - Attach and Add on

Hi,
I am looking for an official answer for my question:

Is it possible to use a Contact Center Add On (for customer Service Enterprise) License with a Customer Service Enterprise ATTACH License? I cannot find any informations for the requirements here. In Partner Center I can chose the add on license, when I use "this product is an add on - view compatible base product subscriptions".

Is it secure, that we can use this licenses together, because in our opinion the Customer Service Attach license is the same as the full license in reference to their use rights and where could I find informations for the requirements for usage, please? License guide March 2026 also doesn't give any information for this constellation.

Maybe it's just the question: Is it possible to use an add-on license with an attach license?

Thanks and BR, Corinna

Yes, you can absolutely use a Dynamics 365 Contact Center Add-on with a Customer Service Enterprise Attach license.

The confusion usually stems from the fact that "Attach" licenses are often discussed as "secondary" or "discounted," but from a technical and functional standpoint, Microsoft treats them as equivalent to "Base" licenses.

According to the official Microsoft Dynamics 365 Licensing Guide (March 2026) and previous versions, the fundamental principle is:
"Base and Attach licenses are identical in their core capabilities and are only differentiated in price."
Because they are functionally identical, an Attach license for Customer Service Enterprise carries the exact same "Use Rights" as the Base license. This means it satisfies the prerequisite for any add-on that requires a Customer Service Enterprise seat.

Since the specific "Contact Center Add-on + Attach" combination isn't explicitly spelled out as a separate line item in the 2026 guide, you have to look at the "Dynamics 365 Base + Attach Definitions" section (usually near the start of the guide, around page 8-10).
It explicitly states that Attach licenses are "identical in their core capabilities." This single sentence is the "official" answer that covers all add-on constellations.
