Website field in any View is prepending our CRM domain to the URL hyperlink

This seems to be new recent behaviour when a Website URL is clicked in a View. This behaviour does not happen for the Website field within a Contact or Account record - it only happens in a Contact or Account View. And it only happens when "https://" is not prepended in the field data.

For example, if the content of the Website field is www.samplewebsite.com, a View will show that URL, but when clicked, it prepends https://ourCRMdomain/www.samplewebsite.com to the hyperlink.

I can understand why it would prepend "https://", but I don't understand why or how it is configured to prepend the entire CRM domain.

As a workaround, I'll have to dump the data down to an Excel sheet and prepend "https://" manually, and that shouldn't be necessary.

Any thoughts?
