Trigger Type in Journey is always "Recurring" when created

Hi all,

In Customer Insights Journeys, when I create a new journey, the Trigger Type is always set to "Recurring", even when I select "One Time" or "Event".
Is this expected behavior by design, or could it be a bug?

    If:
    • The behavior started recently,
    • Occurs for all new journeys,
    • Persists across browsers and users,
then I would consider it a potential Microsoft product issue and raise a support ticket. Include:
    • Screenshots of the journey creation process.
    • The selected journey type.
    • The resulting "Trigger Type" display.
    • Environment and region information.
Before opening a ticket, verify whether the journey executes according to the selected type. If it does, the issue is likely cosmetic; if it behaves as a recurring

journey regardless of configuration, then it's a functional bug that Microsoft should investigate.

You can reply with the following solution:
This behavior is not expected by design. In Customer Insights - Journeys, the Trigger Type should reflect the journey type you selected (for example, One-time, Recurring, or Event-based).
Before treating it as a product issue, I recommend checking whether the journey's actual execution matches the configuration:
    • Create a test journey using One-time and verify whether it runs only once.
    • Create a test journey using an Event trigger and confirm it starts only when the event occurs.
    • Review the journey settings and trigger configuration after saving and publishing.
If the journeys behave correctly despite the UI showing Recurring, then the issue is likely a display/UI inconsistency. If all journey types continue to execute as recurring journeys, then it is likely a functional issue.
    Also verify:
    • The issue occurs across multiple browsers and users.
    • The problem exists in all newly created journeys.
    • You are on the latest Customer Insights - Journeys release available for your environment.
If the behavior persists, open a Microsoft Support ticket and provide:
    • Screenshots of the journey creation process.
    • The selected journey type.
    • The resulting Trigger Type shown after saving.
    • Environment URL, region, and version details.
This will help Microsoft determine whether the issue is a known bug or a tenant-specific problem.
This approach helps distinguish between a UI/display issue and an actual journey-processing defect.
