Hi team,

I have made power bi report with use of BYOD in D365FO.

Is it any other possibilities to make power bi report without BYOD.

I mean to say any other resources like BYOD.

Pls advise, thanks

    Hi @CU10121822-0

Yes, we can connect the Odata from D365 in power bi and build you own reports.

    Thanks,

Okay, so in this case only those entities are we used for Power BI report , which supported Odata. Not all entities

But with BYOD, we can use any entities.

    Am I correct?

    Pls advise, thanks

Using BYOD will allow you connect to D365FO via data entities. And you will need to decide on the connectivity mode : Import or direct query.

You can also do a direct connection with D365FinOps. And yes, you can also access data entities where IsPublic to yes.

Building an entity by using a wizard

Instead of BYOD or OData, you can consider using the Synapse or Fabric link. OData for transaction or other large tables will be very slow and will give additional load on your live system.

Choose finance and operations data in Azure Synapse Link for Dataverse - Power Apps | Microsoft Learn

Link your Dataverse environment to Microsoft Fabric and unlock deep insights - Power Apps | Microsoft Learn
