    • Release Waves: Updates occur in two waves annually: Wave 1 (April - September) and Wave 2 (October - March).
    • Key Dates for 2026 Release Wave 1:
      • Release plans available: March 18, 2026
      • General availability: April 1, 2026
    • Early Access: Users can validate new features in sandbox environments before general availability.
    • Quality Assurance: Microsoft employs rigorous testing and a phased deployment process to ensure reliability.
    • Impact on On-Premises Deployments: Release waves apply differently across various Dynamics 365 apps, with specific guidance for on-premises customers.

So does the release planner replace the documentation now?

Also if you got release plan link it doesn't have anything for 2026

    Cheers

@MaryLouOBrien No, it does not replace the documentation.  Microsoft uses both Release Planner and Microsoft Learn Documentation(Release Plan). So
Documentation (Microsoft Learn) is still the official source.  2026 Wave 1 plans release on March 18th, 2026, so nothing appears in Release Planner before that.
Release Planner will show 2026 features only after the official plans are published.
I hope this clarified your query.

Seems like the timelines for release details to be shared have changed this year. Below is the link to similar thread for reference.

    Hi guys.

    Sorry to hijack.
I'm trying to understand if there is a way anymore to manually kick off the installation of a wave release on a sandbox environment?
Historically, we have always manually kicked off the deployment to a sandbox environment to test it.
Have been trying to do the same with this release but there doesn;t seem to be a way to do this naymore.

Anyone know of a way? It seems a bit bloody stupid to remove the ability to do this as companies mneed to be able to test these releases when resources are available (i.e. not have to wait until a Friday night next week for it to auto deploy).

Surely there must be a way to do this?

@  same feeling with everyone for this change :) unfortunately there is no other way in my knowledge  other than to wait for weekend after release channel update to monthly. I will update if get any update today or tomorrow from MS guys.
