Sales in the new D365 Project Operation

I am implementing Dynamics 365 PSA for å typical project production company. They will use Dynamics from lead to cash. Now I have to select the best path for the future.

In Dynamics 365 Project Operation, will it still hold it’s own Sales module, or will the best aproach be to use D365 PO and D365 Sales?

Thanks

Dynamics 365 Sales will still be there after launch of Project Operations and integrated in the same plattform. How the change from PSA -> PO will effect this is not 100% clear until Previews are finally available but I do not expect huge changes in that area of the Product. Changes are expected in the Area of Resource and Project Planning (due to the integration of Project for the Web), Inovicing and Tracking of Expenses (due to the possible integration of Operations).

Thanks. My main consern is if the new solution will be to use D365 Sales for the sales team or as it is today - that they should use D365 PSA-sales. (D365 PO-Sales). As today the D365 PSA-Sales is the main place for opportinity and quoutes with a mix of products and work effort.

Hi, as far as I know the Integration into Dynamics365 Sales will be the same as it is today. Over time it maybe will change, cause the integraiton is not ideal in every aspect, but not as a starting point.

The data model of core sales has been extended in PSA to complement project centric sales. There's no indication from the product team that this would change in PO from how it is in the current in-market PSA.

I've marked Manuel's answer as verified.

Thanks, This is very helpful. I consider this important for my strategy moving forward, and I have decided to go with the current plan of running PSA alongside with the Microsoft Project Application. We use "old" projects from Microsoft Project to create templates in PSA. Once we have the PO in place, we will migrate the customer and change to the Project for web solution with full overview. I must say that this PO strategy with CDS will make a big positive difference in this space.
