I installed GP Locally and some windows do not open in the normal size. Fonts are fine, so it's not a scaling/display issue (other posts refer to this including using GPPT). I tried those fixes and they do not work.
This is what I see, and some windows I can make longer, but for others I cann't make them larger.
My first instinct was that you are using GP Power Tools, specifically the Window Position storage feature.
However you say you have tried fixes for this, resetting the settings in the admin menu?
Hi Barb
Tim is correct.
Somehow you have managed to get the window size made smaller than the minimum size of the window and then closed the window which saved that size.
If logged on as the user, please use the Microsoft Dynamics GP >> User Preferences >> Additional >> Reset Window Memory Settings to clear the stored positions.
Otherwise as an Administrator go to GP Power Tools >> Setup >> Window Position Memory. Click Reset, select the user and click Reset.
Regards
David
Thanks. I didn't see that option on the Additional window.
Neither of those suggestions are working. It is just the size of the window it seems, not the position.
I have seen the issue with closing GP with a window minimized, but that's not the problem here either.
Some windows allow resizing, others don't.
Window Position Memory stores the position, size and state of a window.
I am pretty sure that this will solve the issue.
but sadly it did not :(
Were you logged in as the user with the issue when you use the option on User Preferences?
Try using Window Position Memory window. Click Reset, select the user, click Reset on sub window.
If this does not solve it then the cause is not GP Power Tools.
I was logged in as 'sa' and selected 'sa' in GPPT as in your screenshot in my attempts above.
This time I logged in as a different user and reset using User Preferences and still I see a small window that I cannot enlarge.
Then I logged out and back in as 'sa' and went to GPPT and marked reset all windows for BARB.
Logged in as BARB and nope, still small windows.
This bit is really important.
Make sure the window is NOT open when you reset using either method.
Otherwise it will be saved with the small size again when you close it.
I had no windows open when I reset it. A mystery, isn't it?!
Try temporarily disabling the entire feature in GPPT
From the Administrator Settings window (login as an admin such as 'sa')
