Ive purchased the Dynamic 365 guide license last week but its still saying I need to sign up. Is there an extra step that I am missing here?

    The license is assigned to my account but its still saying that i need to sign up in the app.

    Yes, registration is required to assign Dynamics 365 Guide licenses to user accounts.
