Lockdown Only Specific User Personalization Settings

Hello!

I have used XrmToolbox to set specific User Personalization Settings for all my users. Most importantly the Email Tab settings.
In order to keep users from going into their Personalization Settings and changing these, in all my Security Roles, I had to disable User Settings in Business Management.
Ideal to keep users from changing the defaults I set, but this also disables other features such as creating, changing and sharing of Dashboards.
Looking to enable ability to change default Dashboard and sharing personal Dashboards, but I need the Email tab to stay locked down.

I could turn User Settings in Business Management back on and write a flow to notify me when a user make a change to any one of the settings in the Email tab, but that could get cumbersome pretty quick.

Suggestions?

No idea if to late, but we had a similar issue (concerns) about users changing the email settings in their personal options. we have solved it described in this post:

I see what you have done, and your example of settings is what I'm using also in order for Users to share dashboards.   Its when I minimize all User Settings to just Read in Business Management they cannot share Dashboards.  I assume this is by design?  Even tho User Dashboard settings are all turned on at the Business Unit level.  Was hoping to really lock that down, but maybe its overkill.  Thanks!!

    Thanks for the reply.

In your example, User Settings are still Enabled.  Which means access to Personalization Settings for the Users is still possible and they can change settings in the Email tab.  Which is what I cannot have.

I need to keep User Personalization settings blocked (mainly the Email tab) while allowing Personal Dashboard/Sharing enabled.

User Settings need to be completely disabled in order to keep the user from having access into their Personalization Settings.

In my test, Core Records -> User Dashboard is enabled for the Users.

Business Management -> User Settings completely off.  With this setting Users cannot change their default dashboard or Set as Default is disabled.  But it does solve for not allowing them into Personalization Settings.

I've tried all combinations and cannot semi lock down Personalization Settings, i.e. no access to the Email tab while keeping the Set as Default and Dashboard permissions enabled.

    Hopefully that makes sense.

    Hi partner,

After testing, I confirmed that the changes to User Settings in the security role do not affect the user's ability to create, modify, and share dashboards.

The user's various permissions for the dashboard are determined by the User Dashboard in the security role.
