If I set up my production environment with desired system settings (email tracking, auditing, relevance search configuration, formats etc.) how can I take a snapshot of this in case we want to set up another environment in exactly the same way.
If you want to copy your instance, you can follow this procedure : docs.microsoft.com/.../copy-instanceThis is not exactly a snapshot and there are some limitation but this may help you reach your goal.

Assuming this is for a Saas implementation of Dynamics. You may be able to leverage the developer functionality to extract your data. By going in the settings under Customizations > Developer Resources you will be able to access a rest API that holds a lot of information on your environment. You may be able to generate a snapshot from this data for your specific settings.
You can't take a snapshot of the settings but what works and can become a good part of a DevOps process is you create a powershell that sets your settings the way you want (most of the settings have exposed API's) and you run that script on each new environment which will set it up the way you want it.
Hi p.axtell,
Exporting a solution will allow you to transport your configuration changes from one environment to another or to store your configuration into your source control system. When exporting a solution, in the Export System Settings (Advanced) step you can choose certain system settings to include in a solution. See Settings options for solution export for details about the settings that will be included with each option.
Hi p,axtell,
Not tried it but not all the settings are transferred with solutions
You can refer below blog for more details

Powershell always my preferred option. This looks like it should work, thanks.
