We have a client that is very protective of the financial data, and they want their users to not have access to the All Reports and Explore All options on the main page of the user profiles, is there a way to disable these?

    Direct Removal Is Not Possible

    • Both "All Reports" and "Explore All" are part of system pages in Business Central.
    • These elements are controlled by the platform, and cannot be removed or hidden through standard customization or page extensions.

    Workarounds You Can Consider

    1. Restrict Access via Permissions

    • Even if users can see these options, permissions will prevent them from accessing sensitive reports or pages.
    • Ensure that permission sets are tightly configured to block access to financial data, reports, or sensitive pages.

    2. Customize Role Centers

    • You can create a custom Role Center and assign it to users.
    • While this won’t remove the system-level "All Reports" or "Explore All", it can limit what’s shown on the main page.
    • Use a blank Role Center or minimal layout to reduce visibility of unwanted elements.

    3. Disable Profile Defaults

    • For "All Reports", disabling “Use as default profile” removes it from the System Page of Role Explorer.
    • Disabling “Enabled” removes it from the navigation menu of the Role Center [1].

     Suggested Next Steps

If your client is highly protective of financial data:
    • Audit all permission sets assigned to users.
    • Create a minimal Role Center with only essential tiles and actions.
    • Raise a product suggestion via aka.ms/bcideas to request more granular control over system UI elements.

    Hello,

In Business Central, the All Reports and Explore All tiles on the Role Center are part of the standard UI and can’t be disabled through permissions alone. The recommended approach is to either customize the Role Center page (removing or hiding those actions with a small AL extension) or assign users a custom profile with a modified Role Center layout that excludes those options. Permissions can control report access, but to hide the tiles themselves, a UI customization is required.

If you can control using permissions by removing access to all the reports, then even if the report is available in Role Center, they will not have access to it, and they get permission error if they try to access it, so I would recommend use permissions to remove access to the reports

No, there’s no setting to disable All Reports or Explore All from user profiles in Business Central. These are system features tied to the Role Center.

The only supported way is to control access through permissions:

    • Restrict the users’ permission sets so they can’t run sensitive reports or access financial tables.
    • Optionally, create a custom Role Center page without those actions if you want to completely hide the options.

So you can’t turn them off globally, but you can limit what users can actually open or see.
