Hi,
We have a fairly large team of developers/testers supporting a production deployment of MSD 365 Customer Service.
We have a large end user base and all have the correct license for the operations they do (Customer Service Enterprise).
My question is regarding the developers/testing team.
Currently we have given them the same license as the end users but they are not using any production instances and are only doing development of new features in the solution and this is quite a big cost.
My question - is there any other license type (cheaper) that I can assign the developers/testers knowing they will only be in Sandbox instances and never use the functionality in production?
I know there are license types like Customer Service Pro etc but can I use them for this?
I have searched around and went through the MS License guide but haven't found a definitive answer.
Thanks for your input!
Chris
There is not an el cheapo dev type licence. Depending on exactly what they are doping you may be able to move some of them to a PowerApps Licence (check the PowerApps Licencing Guide for some more info on what it lets you do), similarly you may be able to move down from Enterprise to Pro.- but it all depends on what they need to do e.g. do they need to test a feature that is only in Enterprise vs write a bit of plugin code on the Account entity (the latter you can test with just about any licence) - for the Dynamics Licencing check the Dynamics 365 Licencing Guide.
