Find if there is an Active workflow for a given record

Hi all,

Just a quick one. What is the best way to determine if there is an active workflow for a given record. I've thought about looking at a workflow status on against the record or some of the static methods in the Workflow class (i.e findTrackingStatusForDocument()).

What is the recommended method for doing this?

look in the WorkflowTrackingStatusTable table.
