Recently I came across a requirement where I wanted to retrieve details of deleted Opportunity and deleted Opportunity close records. I was able to get them from auditing however, details of parent Opportunity was not present on the Opportunity Close. After searching through articles, I found out that if the Opportunity is deleted, the Opportunity Close will also be deleted however, the reference of the opportunity gets removed from the Opportunity Close before the Opportunity Close gets deleted. And thus eventhough the deleted Opportunity Close are captured in the audit logs, I’m not able to identify the parent Opportunity for the respective Opportunity Close from the Audit Logs. So, I wanted to know if there are any work arounds, or any setting that should be enabled before deleting the Opportunities.
