Hi,
I have an embedded Canvas app in a model driven app. I am able to view the app when logged in as Admin. But when logged in as a User with restricted privileges, the app is not visible, showing a message "You don't have persmission to view this app". There is option for sharing the app with specific users. But is there any way to share the app with people who has specific security role?

Currently, you can’t use the Canvas App privilege in a security role to grant app users access to either an embedded or standalone canvas app.
However, you can share with security groups.

I couldn't share it with a set of users based on security role. I had to share it with individual users.
Unfortunately that is what it is said in the links i shared. Sorry.
So, the answer of your question is No it seems, you cannot share the canvas app to the Dynamics Security Roles.
