Hi all,
I have a question regarding certificates as follows, all below testing are under DEV VM.
August 4
========
Step 1: I created a self-signed certificate (.cer) for testing purposes with an expiration date of August 8. I have also added the certificate to the root store and can see it in certmgr.
Step 2: I created an ISV solution and added the above certificate as a resource. I set up my customized SALES module with a specific confirmation key that is connected to the related license code.
Step 3: I generated a license file for the customer - AA, and set the expiration date for August 5.
Step 4: I deployed the ISV solution and the ImportISVLicense deployable package to my FO.
Step 5: I can see the customized INVOICE module.
August 6
========
*. The customized SALES module is no longer visible.
*. I generated a renewal license file for the customer - AA, setting the expiration date for August 9.
*. After deploying the ImportISVLicense deployable package, the customized SALES module becomes visible again.
August 9
========
*. The certificates (.cer) have expired, yet I can still see and use the customized SALES module.
*. I checked the Form//LicenseConfiguration//License codes page, the expiration date is available (August 9) but the status is expired. However, I can still see and use the customized SALES module.
My question is:
Why can I still use the customized SALES module even though the certificates (.cer) have expired but license codes is available?
Many thanks.
