We are a small consultancy Company with our workflow organized by simple projects allocated to teams of 3-4 elements. Tasks in projects are more like phases where consultants can register hours. At first, we were thinking about adopting MS Project Online because we have already Office365. But now, a MS partner has recommended us to go for Dynamics Customer Service as it is more suitable because we dont need complex project mangement with lots of tasca.
What we do need is to manage allocation of projects and to have a clear and realtime view of the resources and availability.
Can i ask for another opinion?
Thanks
Hi Datadvancer,
Thank you for your reply. We have looked into the Project Automation, but the pricing is quite high and the IT company we asked for help told us that it would be like killing ants with a cannon - as we just need few project templates and analytics to understand resources occupation. We are a 35 employees company - can we work with only 1 or 2 Project Automation lincences?
Another aspect is that a lot seems to be going on with updates on MS Project solutions - and I couldnt find anything about the future of PSA and Project Online - about licencing schemes, or if some funcionalities for project portfolio managemnet would be available for e.g. Dynamics Sales.
Is that relevat for the assessment?
Hi Limaif,
My recommendation you select Dynamics 365 to leverage your project allocation management.
Two reasons:
1. In Dynamics 365 family, there is a member called Project Automation, you can use its functionality to manage your project issues.
2. Using XRM implementation to customize your project management requirements. This way is able to provide the flexible and powerful capability of your system.ful
Hope helpfully.
