I am working on a system where the inventory is setup as weighted average. The items I hav ea problem with are serailised, so I have a lot of inventory transactions, and also a lot of inventory sum records.
The problem I have is the inventory close sees to ignore this item, and as a result I have a lot of records in inventory su, that are showing as not closed, the quantities on almost all the entries are zero, but there are costs still open.
So my question is two fold. Should Inventory close be closign these transactions and closing the inventory sum records?
If the answer is no, how do I get the inventory sum records to close?
I am also worried about the open cost for zero quantity being report, but that is a secondary issue at this moment.
Any advice or pointers would be good.
system is AX2012 R2 CU6.
Hi Nigel,
transactions must be closed ,if invoiced. As mentioned by Andre. Include physical value doesn't have any significance if costing principal is wt average. Also link shared by Dr Ludwig , is not important here. If you are using advance warehouse , then look the nature of work transaction. And also find out if any open transaction ,if quantity is depleted, has been part of inventory closing or not.

Good morning Nigel,
Not sure if this helps or is directly related but can those skipped transaction be related to pure physical ones that can be kind of 'eliminated' via the pre-close feature?

Hi Nigel,
If you have setup weighted average, the inventory close should not skip an item. Are the purchase transactions invoiced? What settings do you have on your inventory model group to include physical values or not?
