Hello,

I created an excel file with the same header name as dynamic 365 and I made up some data. I then go to setting and data management and tried to upload the file with new information but I get an error message, “Invalid Format in Import File”.

Could someone please advise on what is wrong, how do we import data into the testing or development environment ?

I have the same question (0)

Thanks I tried to upload other document for other view. I first export the file then, in this format, I copied from production data into it and imported. All the records failed, for reason such as column header, column value, original row number, source row etc. what do you advise ?

    Hi partner,

This error may caused by the workflow/plug-in which runs in the entity you want to import data to.

So please stop the workflow/plug-in and try again.

You could refer to this post.

    Hope it helps.

Great, the error or description after clicking on the import name and click on failures:

    states that:

    “ISV code aborted the operation.”

    Hi partner,

You need to open the record and choose "failure" tab for more error details.

    Hello,

importing it doesn't give an error message. It say completed. But if you see the red circle, there is error, I don’t know what error that is. This view is in data management, imports screen in development environment.

    Hi partner,

What's the status reason in data management imports? Could you share the error message to us?

    Best Regards,

    Leo

On the top it has import name, status reason, successes, partial failures, error, and it’s listed as error.

    I don’t know why.

So I went to workplace, click on jobs, and select Firm - Recent Jobs. Then I click export to excel.

This is all in the development environment.

I then remove the data from the excel file and add new data. In the same url I import the data. And click submit.

A message, your data has been submitted for import. However when I refresh the page, I didn’t see the new data uploaded. I went to setting and data management and import I see the file was imported with creation date and created by.

But I don’t know why the imported data doesn’t appear in the view ?

    Hi partner,

To avoid formatting errors, we could download the templete from entities in D365.

For example, I want to import some account records, so I will do the following steps.

1.Go to account view and download the excel template.

    pastedimage1571019599141v1.png

2.Open the template, and we will see there are some records in it, delete them all and create our new account.

    3.Then we import the excel.

We could see that the account has been successfully imported.

You could also trance the import process in Settings->Data Management->Imports.

    Hope it helps.
