Keep original product description when revising quotes

Does anyone know if it's possible to keep the product descriptions from the original quote when revising?

We have our default product descriptions that populate the quote, but then the salesperson may amend the description inside the quote line to tailor it to that quote/customer.

The problem is when they then revise the quote, the revised version pulls the default description from the product rather than the original quote line description.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi barryjarvis,

I have tested it and when I revise the Quote, the quote line description does not change, it is still the amend description not the default product descriptions.

So could you check if there is any processes like workflow to change the quote line description?

You could enable Auditing for Quote Line and check description field's audit log.

    thanks for the reply LuHao,

I've tested again with audit history enabled and can see that there are some fields that are being updated after revision - including the description field.

I've checked all processes, business rules and flows and can't find anything that is doing this... the only thing I can think of is that it's something that our CRM support company set up when they did some work for us and it's hidden away somewhere I don't have access to.

Thank you for confirming that this doesn't happen on your instance.

    Hi barry,

    Another possibility is a plug-in.

Please go to Plug-In Trance Log to check it.
