Hi Guys,
I wonder if its possible to convert a contact to a lead in CRM Dynamics, to have a button that is clicked similar to when you convert a lead to an opportunity.
I presume this works off a workflow and relationship fields built out to map the data across but I dont know where to start with this. Would be very handy to have some guidance on this or if someone could show me how to complete this task.

Hi Jason,
If you just want to create a lead with a contact, this is easy to do, using an on-demand workflow.
However, if you want to use related contact, account and opportunity to convert a contact into a lead, then this is more difficult, you have to code, use custom button or custom workflow.
So please detail your needs.
You could use javascript on a ribbon button to create a contact. So the user clicks your custom button, a new contact is created and you can map some fields from the lead on to the record.
Also what you could do which is a code-less solution is have a field or flag on the the lead, so when a user changes the value of this and saves the record a workflow can be fired to create your new contact and map fields too.
Look into Scott's videos on using ribbon buttons if you want to go down the button route.
