Management Reporter : "...Can't connect to the Management Reporter server. Do you want to specify a different server address?"

Hello:

A Microsoft Dynamics GP 2018 Power User and Management Reporter 2012 Administrator is trying to get into Management Reporter, for the first time, but cannot.

Upon trying, he gets an error saying something along the lines of "Can't connect to the Management Reporter server. Do you want to specify a different server address?".

How does one go about eliminating this error?

Try turning off the Firewall. You need port 4712 to be open

LOL! Actually, the Partner forgot to install Management Reporter on the server after the GP 2018 upgrade. :) They're working on it, now.

Hopefully they have backed up the MR Building Blocks or can still export them. You cannot copy MR databases from one server to another and expect MR to work. You first install a fresh copy of MR, export the building blocks from the previous copy and then import those building blocks into the new copy.
