The functionality provided by Microsoft is only for similar case suggestions not other record types (possibly they could expand it in the future).

The blog refer to topic analysis and that is only specific to case entity and that too this feature is being removed after Aug 24.

You need to use Microsoft Cognitive Services integration.
"The entity for which similar records are suggested. Select either Account, Case, Contact, Lead, Opportunity, or a custom entity that has an N:N relationship with one of the entities supported for similarity rules."

The linked doc has not been updated since 2017 docs.microsoft.com/.../mt703318(v=crm.8) and the first step to Set the text analytics connection refers to setting up a connection that no longer exists in my system that is on the latest version database version.
When I follow this step ""Go to Settings > Administration > Azure Text Analytics Service Configuration." there is no option for Azure Text Analytics Service Configuration. Any advice?

My bad - that link is for old environment. The latest one has it only for customer service hub and that too just for case.
This is from 2020 and it mentions "the document suggestions feature has been deprecated for all tables, except the case table."
