Advance Production order via hand held - Production Parameters

Posted on by 2,180

Good Morning Dear Community

I have been struggling to understand which parameters are used when Starting and RAF batch orders  using the  hand held terminals.

My undertsanding from this article ( I cannot find anything on the official D365 Microsoft guide) https://www.sikich.com/insight/advanced-warehousing-manufacturing-execution/  is that

Hand Scanners or better the advanced warehouse module uses the Manufacturing execution parameters but it does not seem to work.

What I want to achieve is for example starting a batch order without creating a route card or picking list.

I would like the parameters highlighted above to be Never  when starting from HS.

instead the system selects the following  and I have no idea where it takes this from ( I am not able use the AX debugger for now)

Thanks Alessandro, I can live with flushing principle for the general rule for posting picking lists. I cant seem to set parameters for posting route card and picking list (ie: the check boxes) - I tried default settings on the console but this doesnt work. Are these settings against a specific account ?

Hello John, I ended up using flushing principle as method which I set to manual for everything and route card backflushed on the RAF.

It worked in my case using the STD essentially but there should be dedicated parameters for advancing via WMS app.

I think this is the answer. I tested and worked.

I tested the default parameters and it seems to be working.

I haven't even started the project yet , I am just checking the Demo environment, I will defenitely check with the AX provider  as it should not  be hardcoded.

    Hi,

Can you please open a support ticket for this problem, it looks like a issue in the code.

    Thank you,

    Alina

I was able to have access to the AX debugger and my findings are a little bit concerning and I really would like your insight.

I have been looking essentially at what parameters are used when using hand held scanners for

route consumption and bom consumption when starting and RAF a batch order

It seems the condtions  for bom consumption are hardcoded ...

whilst the conditions for route consumptions are taken from the prod parameter table.

    Can you confirm the same?

    Hi Aparisi82,

Have you checked your default values in the production order. Save then with settings you want and try starting production order with mobile device.
