Hello,

I am configuring a UAT environment. I have created a workflow and set on daily journals.

Now I figured out that we have to do the configuration settings for workflow first.

I have found a link for 2012: Configure the workflow system | Microsoft Docs

But I'm stuck. I can't find where to setup the Number Sequences for Workflow.

Is there any documentation on how to setup the workflow engine?

Appreciate any tips.

Hi MYGz,

There are two options in Dynamics 365:

- Use the Number sequence wizard. With this option, delete all proposed number sequences except the two for the workflow.

- Go to the number sequence list page. Then filter on area Workflow. You can check if there are already number sequences setup. If not, you can create the two new number sequences starting from this form. On the References fast tab you can specify the area (Workflow) and the Reference (Instance ID and Workflow ID).

Hi MYGZ,

As Andre mentioned you can use Wizard to create just number sequence for Workflows.

As alternativ, you can create them manually from number sequences and add reference to them manually:

One for Workflow ID:

and one for Instance ID:

Hi,

As suggested by others , just run the number sequence wizard and then try , system should create and assign number sequence automatically.

Org Admin > Number sequence > Number sequences > Generate number sequence

Thank you guys,

You have answered the number sequence question. Both of the sequence are there.

I have done the the workflow infrastructure configuration. But the workflow is still failing.

Ok I found out the issue. In the condition, instead of always run this step, run this step when following condition is met was selected and no condition was mentioned. Removing that started the workflow.

Now workflow items are getting created but I'm still unable to see the approval button active for people to whom workflow was submitted.

It's working guys. It took some time. For the approve buttons to appear. What a relief. Have to demonstrate this today.
