Posting a Packing Slip in AX 2012 R2 and Receive error: Any suggestion would be helpful.

Please be aware that there are two fields for Legal entity that can be displayed using personalization. They also appear by default in the DMF export for Data Entity: Project ledger posting definition. See screenshot. These columns become even more relevant when using the Ledger account type for Intercompany cost.

It ended up being that the cost account for the project category needed to be set up for this legal entity. Thank you for your suggestion. It set us down the right path.

Did you setup or verify the project posting setup? If you have setup accounts, are these accounts part of an active account structure for this legal entity?

Thank you for the information Dr. Reinhard. Could you point me to a good URL to search from. I find this hotfix in cumulative patches but lacking the detailed information of what the particular issue is. I've tried several sites including www.microsoft.com/.../search and support.microsoft.com/.../cumulative-update-7-cu7-for-microsoft-dynamics-ax-2012-r2. Possibly you have access to something I do not.

Hi,

This might be related to a bug.

Please check the following hotfixes:

KB 2840148"No account number exists for account type Cost for project" error is returned when activating a new standard cost that is associated with a project ID

and

Issue 3799213"No account number exists for account type Cost for project" error after installing SEPA hotfixes when posting an IC timesheet
