Pasting URL into Email default to "mailto" type link

We just noticed that when users paste a copied URL into an email on D355 Sales CRM, the default link type is "Email" so the link has "mailto:" embedded at the start of it.  This seems to have just started happening as I checked some old email records and the url links are the normal "URL" type.  They are using Chrome browser.  I was able to replicate the issue, but when using Edge, this does not happen.  That leads me to believe that this might be a Chrome issue, but I cannot find any settings in Chrome to change this behavior.  Anyone else experiencing this of have any ideas on how to correct this?

    Hi MattD_JMX,

Unlike edge browser, chrome browser has no default settings.
    But you can use extensions:
